Configuration Requirements

Domestic requirements for bed elevator traffic configuration can be found in Article 314 of JGJ49-88 Code for Architectural Design of General Hospital:

Medical Service Elevator

(1) Elevators should be installed in outpatient or ward buildings with 4 or more floors, and not less than 2 units. When the height of ward buildings exceeds 24m, stain ladders should be installed.

(2) Elevators and stair ladders for patients should adopt "bed ladder".

The elevator shaft shall not be adjacent to the main building.

The requirements for elevator traffic configuration in JGJ40-87 Code for Design of Sanatorium Architecture are as follows.

Article 3.1.2: The sanatorium building should not exceed 4 floors. If it exceeds 4 floors, elevators should be installed.
